Barb's Book Review... One Foot in the Grave

You can run from the grave, but you can’t hide…

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She’s still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.

Being around Bones awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline rush of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head—wanted: dead or half-alive—means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard Cat tries to keep things professional between them, she’ll find that desire lasts forever…and Bones won’t let her get away again. Original.

*** small spoiler alert ***

Its been 4 years since Cat started working the death squad. She is kicking ass and takin’ names. When Cat is sent after someone important what she gets is a little bit of history slap her in the face. Liam -or Ian as it turns out- is Bones sire. Something he says while they are grappling for a knife saves his undead life. She lets him go. A life for a life. Bones had saved her mom and now she was 'saving' him by letting him go and stabbing herself as if he had done it. In the time after that Cat moves on as a girl should do. She starts dating a vet. One whom she met when she hit a kitten who ran out in front of her one night.

Tate, her second in command, shows up at her house one morning and she is to come to the command center. There had been a double murder in her childhood home. A message on the wall catches her attention..."Here Kitty Kitty"... her mind goes to Bones. Was it a way to get her attention? When they get to the house she finds a rock of limestone. One that reminds her of the cave. Bones? They make their way towards the cave. Cat, of course, goes to the cave alone. Leading her team 5 miles behind her. What was she walking into? They were to give her a half hour if she wasn't out they were to blow the cave. End of story.

Well what she found was a few too many vampires waiting on her. The main asshole tells her that her ‘boyfriend’ had told them who she was. They were there to collect her and turn her in for the bounty on her head. Who were these jokers? Why now? Was Bones behind this? When they go to get her boyfriend they drag out Danny. As in the asshole that raped her as a teen. So he had sold her out.. again. Well he was used -by Cat- as a bullet collector and threw the vamps off enough she was able to take them down. All but the main dude. She got into a fight with him, wounded the fucker, grabbed Danny and ran. There were only seconds left until the bomb was to hit.

As she got to the entrance of the cave two of her men charged in. Tate and another, Dave. Dave was taken down and they were not able to save him. The vamp that got away had royally pissed Cat off now. Cat, Tate, and two other of her men went to juice up.. as in she made the humans drink vamp blood.. (LMAO) And then the chase was on. She of course caught the fucker and when she did they had a little fun times to get the information they wanted. Or the information they tried to get.  Then he went poof.. As he deserved. The team was shaken but they pressed on. They had a job to do. More assholes to take down.

As time moved on Cat and her team worked on taking down vamps while she helped her best friend Denise -who knew who and what Cat was and knew of her team- get ready for her upcoming wedding. Her fiance seemed to be a good man. He treated Denise right at least. It was at the wedding that Cats fishbowl was turned upside down, spun around and kicked into the bushes. Denise’s soon to be husband was friends with.. (hold onto your knickers) Bones. As she sauntered up the aisle as the maid of honor she saw him. Of course his hair was longer and a honey brown now but it was him. It took all she had in her to stay focused during the ceremony. and then there was her mother to deal with when she saw him. needless to say she was quite revved up the entire reception.

After the wedding she was too keyed up to contemplate going home so she went to a club that her and the team were going to hit the next night. Of course she found trouble.. its kinda her thing. But as usual Bones came to the rescue.. well he was good back up anyhow. They take down the vampires and then it happens. The talk they have put off all night. After some time to adjust, they agree to work together and date platonically. (Laughs) Then Bones and Cat talk again, she confesses that she loves him and would do anything for him.. that is put to the test when her mom shows up at the house to scold her for breaking up with the vet. even though that relationship was going nooooooowhere! Her mom calls her a whore.. and Bones went on the offensive. Mom and Bones went toe to toe, face to face until her mom stormed off. Not a man I’d wanna argue with for sure.

Time grows shorter for Cat -in accordance with her ‘death’- as Bones takes her out on a date. A real date. As they settled into a evening out all hell breaks loose. Bones jumps across the table and gets her to the floor just as the glass in the window breaks. It takes a minute for her to get her bearings. She has a cut on her head -from a bullet grazing her head- Bone has a bullet in his head and the shooter is getting away. Bones and Cat go after the van that is speeding away. How do you ask when they were on the 20th floor of the building they were in. Well that was easy, he busted through the glass and flew them to the van. Yes fleeeeew! The captured the man. And Bones makes him talk. Bones takes her back to his house so she is safe.

When people piss Cat and Bones off… things get crazy. There is a spy in the mix. Someone she works with is selling her out. They work out a plan to find out who it is. A way to sneak him into the compound. Once the plan is in play its all going down. Her men (Tate and Juan) go with her to set up the plan. They let Bones out of the cages in the basement (laughs) and he goes into a sniffing fit. They find the culprit.. and then learn who is going after her. To say its a shock is to put it lightly. Now it’s time to put a big ass plan into motion. They make out a plan that the members of her team may not like. But to her surprise they go along with it. Tate, Cooper and Juan all juice up… as in they drink a pint of Bone’s blood. And the fun begins.

Fighting, and practicing with another vamp they had in the basement (who knew Bone’s and knew if she didn’t follow the rules she would die) and unfortunately the bastards hated losing. So they busted their asses to do it over and over again. They would not go down that easily. With the plan in motion Bones calls all of his people in (the men and woman he had changed) as back up. And then… Annette, the first person Bones had ever changed came in. And let me tell you her and Cat did not see eye to eye.. Bwahaha. It came down to a knock down, drag out fight. Ending with Cat putting a knife to Annette’s heart. they came to an understanding… Annette would back off and Cat wouldn’t kill her. Bones is not happy with this. He makes Cat tell him what happened. O.o He was not a happy boy…

It caused a night of passion that Cat wouldn’t have thought was possible. He showed her just what he was capable of including blood exchanges and… well just wild sex. Not only to prove she was his but to make a point to Annette. The bed was ruined and she was very, very satisfied. The next morning Cat learns the plan has been pushed up to tonight. Seems Ian had called saying he had information as to where Cat was. Bones had to inform him that he had Cat and some of her men. Hostages. So it was set. They would meet and then the real fun would begin.

When they all met things went sort of as planned. Ian was his asinine self as usual.. but as it started Cat was challenged, of her own asking. If she won she got a man back -the only they had, Noah- but if she lost.. well Ian gets her. Thought no one knew the other end of this dea. Bones had been released to be his own Master so he was not under Ian’s wing anymore. So all of his property -buy vampire law, including Cat- could go with him. but Cat decided to fight the fight. Only her fight wasn't with a  vampire.. it was with a Ghoul. A big bald, ugly one. And the fight was nasty. HA! But what would you expect? Of course it changes when he pisses her off. Cat is not just a little pussy ya know. So she bit him in the groin.. Bwahaha And he screamed like a girl. Then she took out his eyes. He would heal but it gave her time to attack… and take him down, and his head off.

Ian had no choice but to let her go…. the Cat being Cat decides to tell Ian that she is calling out her father, Max. She wants to challenge him. But since she did NOT talk to Bones first she fucked herself. As saying Max was her father, he belongs to Ian, so she is now Ian’s… Dumbass…

But it’s Bones to the rescue… with a wedding proposal... Ian of course spits and sputters as he yells it can’t happen that is until his master shows up... thankfully he was able to sort out a few things out… and now by vampiric law Cat and Bones are ‘married’.

And, you have to read it to see what happens next. I was shocked! Amazed even… HA! I loved this book. So damn good and completely craaaaazy! Very gripping and enjoyable. Can’t wait until I get to the next one!!

Emmy's Book Review... Flirting With Fire

Apprentice witch Catalina Gato is prohibited from assuming her human form in front of her new employer without his express permission. Since he doesn’t know he’s a warlock, he can’t give it, leaving her in a familiar’s limbo. To make matters worse, she’s barred from leaving his house, and her attempts to enlighten him of his true nature results in burnt notes, charred walls, and exploding laptops.

On All Hallows’ Eve, she gets one night of freedom. Deciding some no-strings-attached sex might take the edge off the intense attraction she feels for her clueless boss, she signs up for Madame Eve’s service. When she meets her masked mystery date at the Castillo Capital, she realizes she might have gotten much more than she bargained for.

After being gifted a one-night stand from his annoying best friend, attorney Leo Difuoco reluctantly ventures to the Castillo Capital to celebrate Halloween. When he meets his oddly familiar green-eyed date in a Cat Woman costume, flames literally ignite, sparks magically fly, and life as he knows it changes forever.

flirting with fire.jpg
Flirting with Fire is the first novella in this trilogy of stories from this author.  Leo Difuoco is an attorney, a neat freak, and (unbeknownst to him) a warlock.  He has recently come into an inheritance from his Great Aunt Nonna - her cat, and half of her house.  The other half she left to the cat, with the stipulation that Leo take care of her.  Leo was not raised with any knowledge that he is in any way magical, and thus does not pick up that the cat is not a cat.  The cat is actually his Aunt Nonna’s familiar, a very human shape shifting witch named Catalina Gato. (Clever, I see what you did there)

Catalina is in a bit of a bind, because she was in a contract with Nonna as her familiar for five years.  When Nonna passed, the contract passed to her heir, Leo.  In the formal contract there are several clauses that most witches and warlocks immediately wave upon acceptance, as they are more traditional than practical anymore.  These clauses are that the familiar has to remain in animal form whenever they are in proximity to the witch or wizard, that the familiar cannot leave the witch’s home without his or her permission, and that they only get one day off, which is Halloween.  When Nonna died, the contract reverted back to it’s original form.  Catalina has been stuck since then, six months ago.  Warlocks (and I guess witches as well) are elementals in this world, they have access to the raw power of their element.  A familiar is used to focus this power, to harness it into usable spells.  Leo is a fire mage, although he doesn’t know it.

This story opens on Halloween.  Catalina has tried over and over again to let Leo know what is going on, but everytime she tries the magic of the contract thwarts her.  She has resigned herself to living as a cat whenever he is home for the rest of her contract, (18 months) because at the end she will get a huge bonus. Cat’s sister has set her up with a surprise for her one day off, a one night stand from a Madame Eve’s “dating” service.  Leo has been set up with one as well, by his partner, Jackson Frost.  It’s Halloween, so it’s a costume party.  Cat’s sister, the wit, has set her up with a Catwoman outfit.  She and Leo meet and have dinner there at Castillo Capital, the place set up by Madame Eve.  On the way to their room (this is a one night stand after all, people) they get stuck in the elevator.  Leo has spent all of this time trying to figure out why Catalina’s green eyes are so familiar, and she has been fighting with the idea of telling him.  When they get stuck in the elevator she does magic in front of him and tells him what he is.  He takes it better than I would have thought and they don’t make it to their room.  At the end of it all they are together and Leo has accepted his heritage and magic.

All in all for a short little novella it was really cute - funnier than I thought it would be.

Flirting with the Grave...

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father - the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unholy partnership.

In exchange for finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner - are there actually good vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

halfway to the grave.jpg

*** small spoiler alert ***

Catherine Crawfield, Cat, half vampire is on a mission in Licking Falls, Ohio. her mother is human and her father, the man who ruined her life, is a vampire. And as he hunts the ones that go bump in the night she is looking for him. (snickers) One night as she prowls the bar she is in she sees one of them. But as she saunters over to him… she is turned down by a vampire… -man- in the bar it throws her for loop. It was something she wasn’t used to. But she doesn’t leave the bar alone. (I have to say I was laughing my ass off at her acting skills here. So frigging awesome.) The next night she goes back to the same bar, trolling again. She meets -him- again. His British accent grating on her nerves but she was desperate to get him out of the bar. That is when things get…. interesting.

Never turn your back on a vampire. Cat made that mistake and it left her waking up in a very dark place chained to a wall. The vampire in hand wanting to know who she worked for. Apparently when she says no one he doesn't believe her. Even after he smacks her around and she tells him what she is he is still not believing her. Not until he makes it dark and tries to bite her. When her eyes change to the same color as his… he gets it. After he lets her lose they have a little chat. And that sets off an idea for an arrangement. Bones will teach her over the next 5 weeks or so how to actually fight and kill vampires. Seems Bones has a lot of work to do in that area…

After her training Cat is given a makeover of sorts. She has to look the part to get the men. Not all that complicated but she begrudgingly agrees and they set off on their first adventure. And… its a good thing she is quick. Cat gets injured when she makes a little mistake but Bones is there ot back her up. The closeness that grows between them -of course she fights this- is more and more obvious -to me at least- as they talk. She opens up after her fight with the vamp and tells him about the one guy that hurt her. Raped her actually. This is something even her mother doesn't know. Why is she opening up to him? (‘Cause she doesn’t want to trust him but I am pretty sure she is... starting to at least.)

The situation between them grows as they try to find this Hennessy fella. Taking down his ‘team’ one by one. Working closer to where he is hiding. But as usual the spaces between Cat and bones go crazy and then they are all good. Cat has moved out of her grandparents home and into an apartment. Her mother isn’t okay with that but.. it’s what a college girl needs. Right? Her little neighbor Timothy is a shy, mousy man. Also a college kid. Bones scares the mess out of him at first but Timothy is -to Cat’s mom at least- her ‘boyfriend’. Quick thinking on her feet as it was. But Cat almost gave herself a heart attack while her mom and Tim talked. After she left it was all worked out. Ha. (Loved it)

The intimacy they share though breaks through some of their boundaries. The possessiveness between the two grows as well. Cat’s shows when they meet someone from Hennessy’s spawn pool shows up and wants to turn on her master. Her lingering looks at Bones and her ways of flaunting her body makes Cat’s vampire come out. The possessiveness comes out. Cat staked her claim on him. (No pun intended.) then one night at a bar -while Cat plays decoy- the guy that hurt her all those years ago shows up. He tries to get pushy with cat when she tells him to go away and ignores him. But Bones -who was hiding away in the shadows and cames to the rescue. He had seen her face pale when she caught sight of him. he knew who it must have been so he was delighted to shake the fuckers hand. Nicely breaking it and making him kneel to the floor. But Cat, not wanting him to hurt the idiot -for her own reasons- talks him down and they leave the club. Abandoning their hunting for the night.

Things go good for a but until Cat’s mom shows up out of the blue. No calling ahead, no nothing. How can Cat explain to her mom that her boyfriend/lover is a vampire? She shoves -yes shoves- the poor man in a damn closet and keeps him there until she can get rid of her mother, faking that she is sick. When Bones comes out you can tell he is hurting. Why is she hiding who she is? Her mother has too much pull in her head. Its not him she is hiding, but herself. Bones leaves Cat to think things over. Over the next week tim keeps her from going too out of her mind… but the mood she is in is only getting worse. After talking to Tim she decides to call Bones. He is on his way to her house. He is upset, Francesca has gone missing.

They head out and start looking at any place they think she could be. After a night of looking with no sign of her they head back to Cat’s apartment. Only to be muddled up in traffic. Then they hear and see what they needed to see. Francesca’s body is on the road side. Bone’s came to the conclusion that she killed herself to keep Hennessey from killing her. But why happened? How did it come to her offing herself? The next day things went from weird and crazy to fucked in a minute. Cat talked to her mom and just after getting off the phone there was a knock on the door. Police. Detectives Mansfield and Black to be precise. Seems Danny -the ex asshole rapist- had gone to them and told them she had left the bar -six years ago- with a murder. And of course they had found the body, minus his head and the car in the water. Which matched a body in Indiana.

When they left she had to get to Bone’s. Killing a little time she takes off running through the trees. Bursting into tears when she falls into him. once she tells him what had happened he told her to call home. Hennessey had people everywhere. Her family wasn’t safe. When they get to her house… they find her grandparents had been killed. Her mom is missing. Hennessey has her. A note was left in her grandfather’s pocket. A cryptic note only Bones could decipher. It was to meet the vampires. They did meet them. Using Cat as a backup. They would never think she was a danger. When they get there things break out into a mass of chaos the moment Cat calls the cops to “come and get her”. When the cops showed up the remaining vampires went on the attack, and the cops started firing.

Cat gets caught and shot. She is arrested but after 30 minutes of silence a Lieutenant Isaac comes in and pulls her out. Saying he is taking her in. But with a moment of clarity Cat smells something on him.. and manages to move just in time to keep from getting shot. With her fast movements she manages to get the mans guna dn makes him take her to the ‘one in charge’. Of course there is a fight once she gets there. The man in charge goes down… she makes sure he is deeeeeaaaaad. Then once again.. Cat is arrested. (laughs hard) While she is in the hospital, for the second time she is greeted by the FBI. Agent Donald Williams from the Paranormal Behavior Division and his Special Forces bodyguard Tate Bradley. Williams tells her he works in a division that investigates unnatural occurrences of a homicide. In other words they hunt down vampires.

After giving her a little... test… that they failed… (LOL) he offers Cat an offer she can’t refuse. They want her to work for them. The men in black were real… who knew. She refuses their offer and they let it go asking if she wanted to see her mother. Annnnnnnd her crack head of a mother was all off the rocker. Drowning in her rage and Cat was unable to change her mind. Thinking Cat is being controlled by Bones. Her mother had told them about Bones… now they were hunting him…. so now.. she has a bad choice. Does she choose her mother or Bones? Does she take the job they offered?

Of course she does... but she has conditions of her own.

1) She is in charge of any teams she is to fight with. Also, she trains and picks her own team.
2) They leave immediately and they forget about Bones.
3) Length of service agreement. 10 years, not a bit more.

And then the negotiations begin… LOL

4) She wants a house and a salary. With a home for her mother. Same state just a different city.
5) They must take care of the girls that were rescued. Give them what they never had.
6) She only goes after vampires that are KILLING people.

Arrangements will be made to get them the hell out of there. It seems the fun is just beginning… As they are about to move them her mom seems to relax some, still thinking she is right. As the military and FBI pull get her away from the hospital Bones shows up. He gets her and her mother away from them and takes them to a friends house in Indiana. But it can’t be that easy. Cat has to make a plan to get away from him, in order to keep him safe. So what does she do now…?

I have to say I was anxious to get to this series. I’ve had it for a while and I am sooooooooo glad I was able to start it. I loved it. And Bones is just awesome. Cat is kick ass and together they are all but unstoppable. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

He didn’t ascend the two steps up to the raised floor I was on, so we were now more or less of similar height. It was a little disconcerting he was still taller, even at my advantage.
“Did you just tattletale like a little bitch?”
“He was touching your ass.”
“And if you want me to be your bitch, I can do that.” The grin that spread across his handsome face showcased a sexy line of white teeth. He had a very small slit in his lip, as if he suffered from dry lips. Without thought, I leaned forward and sucked his bottom lip into my mouth. He tasted like beer and delicious man. I knew I was risking the giant’s bollocks kissing him in front of my brothers, but I couldn’t stand more time passing without having a little taste.
I pulled away, slowly releasing his lip with a nip of my teeth. He didn’t make any move to touch me, or kiss me back. He simply stared at me with shining eyes and a hot smirk.
“Dance with me.” It wasn’t a question; I wanted to feel his body against mine.
“Can I touch your ass?”
I didn’t answer; I simply sauntered back onto the dance floor. I glanced over my shoulder and offered him a coy smile. Acis had scared the poor young guy away.
I started the slow sway of my hips, keeping my eyes pinned to my avid admirer. His eyes tracked my movements. The sway of my hips, the bend of my knee, the curve of my waist. Slowly, he walked toward me with the prowl of a dangerous animal ready to capture his prey. I expected him to wrap his arm around my body and pull me against him, but instead, he lifted his hand and hooked his finger under my chin and ran his thumb over my bottom lip.
“You’re a dangerous woman, pixie-girl.”
I didn’t speak; I simply stared into his eyes and wrapped my lips around his thumb and sucked it into my mouth, licking the pad before slowly releasing it. His eyes flared and his extremely long lashes battered against his cheeks like butterflies trying to escape.  Finally, his thick arm banded around my back and lifted me up against him, my feet dangled near his shins. There was no finesse in the way I crashed against him—as I said, I was clumsy. But the heat of his skin burned against me, igniting a desperate need inside me. I pressed my hands against his chest and curled my fingers into the fabric, anchoring myself to him as he pressed his hips against mine and started a slow sensuous rocking. With each wave of movement, my stomach tightened as his hips and hard-on pressed perfectly against me. I parted my legs slightly, allowing him to slide his thigh between my legs. His hand caressed my waist as it slid down my side, over the small of my back, to cup my arse. He pressed against me, bringing me tightly against his hardness. I closed my eyes and a small moan escaped me as electric pulses throbbed through me.
The scratch of stubble against my cheek and the hot warmth of his breath made me shiver violently.
“I want to feel, touch, and taste your skin, Pix,” he whispered against my ear, the seductive baritone of his voice shattering any protests I may have had. Which I didn’t. I tightened my fist in his shirt, certain I was nipping his flesh.
“I want you to watch as my tongue licks every inch of this perfect body. Starting with your tight nipples.” He took my earlobe into his mouth and nipped with his teeth. I melted against him. The only support for my weakened body was my grip on his shirt and his hands on my arse.
“I—” I said breathlessly as he licked a warm path down my neck to cover my throbbing pulse with his mouth, sucking hard against my heated flesh.
“Either way, babe, I need you naked.”

Hi! What to say about myself...I don't really have anything interesting to offer other than I love to read, and create stories for others to enjoy. I've always been told I have a vivid imagination, I just lacked the confidence to pursue putting it onto the written page. But finally I embarked on making a single dream come true.

I love to read, and write. I only read romance, any genre really, but it has to have a beautiful romance. I also demand a HEA, even if it takes two or three books to get there. Reality is too broken and jaded without having to live through the trauma and angst in a book for it to end unhappily.

Barb's Book Review... The Billionaire Bargain (Part 2)

It’s Release Day!!! The Billionaire Bargain (part 2) is HERE!!!

It was a deal made in the boardroom and sealed in the bedroom.

It all seems so simple: pretend to be his fianceĆ©, his company share prices stabilize, and everyone wins. It’s all just for show.

So why does he keep kissing me? And why do I let him? Grant Devlin is the bane of my existence — not the man of my dreams. But now the lines are getting blurred, and between the kissing and the champagne (and did I mention the kissing?) I’m getting way too comfortable as the future Mrs Devlin.

Something’s got to give, and it better not be my self-control…

the billionaire bargain 2.jpg
First let me thank Lila Monroe for giving me and ARC of The Billionaire Bargain (part 2) in exchange for an honest review. And I am thankful she offered! I was dying to know what happened next!! There was a part in this book that I tweeted Lila to tell her I wanted to kick Grant in the nuts… but Lila said to wait he may need them later.. so I am waiting.. Bwahaha…

***small spoiler alert***

So, this novel starts off right where the other left off. The ice queen -Grant’s Godmother- was her usually pissy self as she ‘congratulated’ the couple. Then ordered Lacey to have lunch with her the next day at noon. As they left the ballroom they went straight to the car where Lacey consumes copious amounts of champagne and is dropped at home. As she drops to her bed she passes out. Waking up to a Bam Bam Bam at  her front door. She had slept into the mid morning, her head of course was killing her but she had to stop the noise. (Though I think she changed her mind when she opened it to one pissed off best friend. Kate barged in and was about to blow a gasket.)

Of course the newspapers -all of them- printed it on the front page. Lacey and Grant’s faces were everywhere. What was Kate’s problem? Why had Lacey not told her about the engagement? Once Lacey explained what was going on Kate relaxed a bit. Finally as they talked Lacey remembered the old bat had invited her to lunch. Lacey made it late, but in her defense the bitch had only told her at 15 minutes until it was time to go where to meet her. She was snooty and stuck up but that was usual. Just as the old witch kicked into full gear Grant swooped in and rescued her.

Grant, trying to be a good man gave Lacey his credit card and after a bit of tousling she took it. To ‘make a point’ to him she and Kate went on a shopping spree. HA! And by the end of it she loved it. The next day Grant picked her up and drove her to his family's vineyard for an engagement party. That party turned Lacey off of a few girls as they hated on her in a nice way. Grant again swoops in and takes Lacey off to look over the property. Thanks to her new high heeled shoes she can't walk through the soft dirt. Grant gets.. well he hijacks a golf cart -by picking the lock on it- and they ride off. Their innocent ride turns into a drunk rollercoaster of riding through mud and the river. You get to see a side of Grant Devlin that you usually don’t see.. unless he is with Lacey. (my opinion)

He is laughing and joking around and they actually have a helluva time together… even up to the time where Lacey decides to drunk drive the golf cart right into a tree. Though they managed to escape the carnage before it hit. Grant lead her to a cabin -in the woods.. LOL- and a simple act of getting themselves clean turns into a night of passion. But as they wake up a call comes in and things go from great to awful. Seems a video tape of Grant and two woman from last year has surfaced. They head back into the city and take up space at ‘their’ -his- apartment and try to do some damage control. They manage to get Mr. Jennings's back on track -thanks to Lacey and her honesty, at the moment- and then the godmonster shows up.

“Well, Grant dear, it looks like your inability to walk without tripping and falling into someone’s cunt has come home to roost at last. I’m only impressed that you somehow managed to get your dick stuck in two at the same time.”

((Hoooooly fucking Hell… I about pissed myself at that. Thank God my bff (Emmy of course) works with me ‘cause I had to share that and we both turned red, laughed our asses off and then I went back to reading while I still laughed. That has to be the nastiest -thanks to the ‘C’ word, yet very truthful thing ever said. Kinda gives a whole new meaning to a hole in one… LMAO))

After the ice queen/godmonster’s little rant there she announces the wedding has been moved up… to one week from now. Next weekend they will be husband and wife. Lacey -after talking to Grant- decides to tell her parents what is really going on. About the whole rouse and all. They take it well. Her mother tells Lacey to follow her heart.. and that is what she does.

Now, stay tuned for The Billionaire Bargain part 3… I’m holding onto my knickers and waiting not so very patiently…. so don’t worry you are not alone!!!
