Barb's Book Review... The Billionaire Bargain (Part 3)

The Billionaire Bargain #3
Last week I was in the penthouse with a sexy Australian billionaire. Now I’m back to Netflix Friday nights and leftover takeout. And it’s all my fault.

I’m the one who left the high life behind, and all because I couldn’t bring myself to go through with a sham marriage to my sexy boss Grant Devlin — because I went and fell in love with him for real.

I know, stupid.

Now he won’t talk to me, my job is hanging by a thread, and oh yeah, an evil plot to take over Devlin Media Corp means all my hard work could be for nothing. If we’re going to save the company, I need Grant’s help.

Help that doesn’t include hot sex in the copy room.

Wish me luck.

First, thank you to Give Me Books and Lila Monroe for allowing me an ARC of The Billionaire Bargain, part 3 to read in exchange for an honest review. With that said I am soooooooooooooo excited to get this and continue on this story. I am lucky I found the author and series to start with. This story... Talk about a deliriously delicious heart squeeze epic proportions… just dayum!

~~ Small spoiler Alert~~

So, Lacey is hiding out with her mom and dad. Not that its working out all that well. She is still inside her head. But worry over things that mean a lot to her and her worry of the guilt she feels overtakes her sanity for a bit. And after a visit from her best friend Kate she knows what to do next. Go back to work. No matter that the papers and gossip mags say she was just after Grant’s money and that he sent her walking. No that can't get to her. It wasn't a real relationship.. even if she did fall in love with him. It wasn't anything special for him. But to her surprise there had been a deposit into her bank… 25, 000 dollars.. it was from Devlin Media Group. A pay off as Grant said, for services rendered. She was hurt he was cold with her as he said it but do ya blame the man? Um, yeah no. Dang crazy woman..

After a disastrous board room experience, frustration is mounting in Lacey and she is about to her limit on emotions. Grant is pissed and hurt, she is beyond frustrated but then something happens she wasn’t expecting. Portia -the ice queen and Grant’s godmother- is caught slinking out of the building. She had been acting funny since the board meeting so Lacey grabs Kate from her desk and they go walking after her. They are no spies but they manage to stay undetected even went as far as to call the restaurant  to give her the name the reservation was under. Lacey -using Kate’s phone- googled the man’s name and her mind started to race in panic. He was someone they didn’t want to get involved with. Seems Portia is getting ready for a hostile take over. Time to fight back.

Lacey goes to Grant’s house. Barges in and tells him everything. But Grant wants to know why she cares. Then she gives him everything, even as going to tell him it was all fake and that he didn’t love her. But the reaction he had to her words and how she felt sent them into a spiraling lip lock of lip locks. That night she fell asleep in his arms. Where she belonged. The next morning was awkward they were both scared the other would regret the night before but to their relief they were both fine. They needed to talk it out but after they dealt with this Portia situation. And deal with Portia did they. The plan started.. many late nights, covert meeting with stockholders. Trying to get any and everyone on their side, to show them what the Devlin Media Corp. was really all about.

The ice queen thought she had it in the bag but Lacey and Grant had it one better. And when it came down to it.. Grant and Lacey’s work had paid off. Grant’s truthful story of what the Devlin Media Corp was really made of shined bright. They should be thinking of the people and not the numbers. Needless to say, they won the battle, and the fact that they did it together was what made it best of all. Just shows you together you can do anything you set your mind to. earning a well needed and deserved vacation Grant takes Lacey to the Caribbean. Looks like when they come home there will be more changes in their lives made too.

As with the other two installments in this one pulled me in from page 1. I love Lacey, she is a great character and though she and Grant had issues from book 1 but I love how they have grown with each other. Made changes and depict the strength and determination that we all need at times. Its not only enjoyable its a great love story in the mix of a drama of emotions that is pushing the characters in all directions at once. I absolutely love this story and hope there are many more pieces of it to come in the future. Or ones similar to it. (Crosses my fingers)
