When a trio of demons kidnap Vdarra Jansen, her normal life is ripped away. Her abductors claim she is the “lost heiress” of the Underworld, and the commander of the mighty Army of Duemos. They don't seem to care that she knows nothing about the Underworld, or that she only remembers the last ten years of her life...
Former archangel Jacob will do anything to bring back his lost love’s memories. But if he succeeds, it could mean the end of the world. Torn between love and duty, Jacob will do whatever it takes to save her.
Jacob and Vdarra must learn to trust each other, and push aside old hurts to find their way. They are in a race to find the one thing that will decide Vdarra’s, and the world’s, fate – the lost Seal of Solomon. It will mean choosing between innocent lives ...and their hearts.
Blog Post Title: Cover Critique of Her Fallen Protector by Nichole Severn
For over a year and half I tried imagining what my cover for this book would turn out like. Every author goes through this, especially when their publisher sends them the cover art sheet to be filled out for the author’s vision. Images dance across your brain, you research other covers in your genre in hopes yours turns out better than theirs, and you start bugging your graphic designer that there are a tons of new updates coming to your site. Or is that just me?
If you can imagine, my cover art sheet description and the final cover are nothing alike. Where I imagined something along the lines of Werewolves Be Damned by Stacey Kennedy or the trailer poster for Queen of the Damned, my cover artist, Curtis, was actually inspired by my own book.
The grays used match my website, the rune-like image gives you an idea of what’s to come and gives some texture, and the models just look so in love. Like my characters. The hint of magic in her hand took me a while to get used to, but now it seems like it was always supposed to be there.
I swear my cover artist read the book before he even opened his editing software. Or maybe he’s clairvoyant? Because the cover he sent me translates my characters and the storyline into a perfect visual and I can’t thank him enough.
What do you think of the cover?
