First, I need to thank Jennifer Malone Wright (the author) for supplying me an audio copy of this serial series after winning a contest on her FB page. And yes, this is a YA (young adult) series. A good one at that. Not my ‘normal’ read (as in it being YA) but seriously it looked interesting so I entered the contest. And I am so glad I did. I am not only a lover of a good vampire story, I love hunter stories. Add in the fact that it’s a serial, and I was sold.

Imagine waking up to find out your life as you know it has been a lie. You are not just a regular girl. Your mother is a vampire hunter, your father is a bastard of a vampire and you are now.. stuck in the middle. Can you imagine that? Effing creepy, crazy, right? Well that is how Chloe feels now. Her mom was there one minute then she was being attacked by vampires. Up until that moment Chloe had no idea what a vampire was… well I mean more than them being something of fiction. Her mother fought back but that ended in bloodshed. Now her mother is gone, ordered to be killed by her father.

A rage grows inside her but it’s taken over by panic until she is rescued from the vampires by her fellow hunters. Taken to her grandfathers for safe keeping and to start her ‘training’ for a world she never knew existed has put her into a place that Chloe still doesn’t believe is real. See Chloe is very special. She is a human, vampire slayer with a vampire. She is like a mix of Buffy and Blade. (Two of my absolute favorites, by the way) Girlfriend is kick-ass and doesn’t even know it yet. And with the help of her new friends and her grandpa she will become the ultimate in fighting machines… if she can stay away from vampires long enough to get that far.

About the Author:

Jennifer Malone Wright is best known for her short story series, The Vampire Hunter's Daughter. Other works include the follow up to The Vampire Hunter's Daughter series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles, The Graveyard Guardians series, and her vampire novel called Savior. Jennifer also co-authors a series called Once Upon A Zombie Apocalypse as well the Beary Tales series.

She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just kidding!

But seriously, between the craziness of taking care of her children, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.
