Jess's Review... If I Seem Dangerous

Darkness shrouds Noah James’ past. Drugs, alcohol, abuse—they cloud the few memories he has and threaten to eat away at his future. The only brightness in his life is Caitlyn Hale. She came crashing into his world the day he met with her father, the sports agent who could possibly give him a new start. That day, he left the agent's office with a professional fighting career ahead of him and the image of a hazel-eyed beauty imprinted in his soul.

Rarely does life offer a glimpse of happiness without snatching it away. Just like he's always feared, the monster that haunts him comes roaring back. His entire life shatters, threatening to return him to the darkness he came from. The light-heavyweight champion is about to face the fight of a lifetime. He can only hope to make it through each round without losing the few things he has left.

If I seem Dangerous.jpg

I was given this arc in exchange for a honest review. If I seem dangerous is about a fighter who has a dark past. We meet Noah as he wins his title match.. But much like Noah's like nothing is ever easy for him. In a cruel twist of fate Noah's title is take from him when his drug test comes back positive. With the alarming news Noah and his girlfriend Caitlyn try to figure out who could have something against Noah to tamper with his life.

Noah didn't have a picture perfect childhood his mother was beaten almost to death and his father was a complete douche. Michael Noah's father never wanted Noah to have a good life and did everything in his power to make his life miserable. This also includes messing with his career. In this book we follow the journey Noah takes in catching his father in his faults.

While the first part of this book intrigued me after about 50% I lost interest in the book. While I believe in not letting the plot line falter throughout the book I felt this one was dragged out to long. You could have cut some of the middle out of this story and made the important parts more detailed and it would have packed a heavier punch. I gave this book 3 raindrops because while I wasn't overly impressed with the storyline it at least made sense of what was happening.
