The Independents I:

A traditionally published author decides to self publish a new work in the hopes of igniting her stalled career. Despite roaring success, she uses lies and a fake author personality to build up a following. Her deceitful tactics come to the attention of The Independents, who have a message for her. One that may not stop with words on a screen...

You Insult One. You Insult Them All.

**Intended for 18+. Some scenes may be too intense for some readers.**
All available on Kindle Unlimited

After a shower, she retreated to her desk and opened her word program to work on Primed. Before she had even finished a sentence, her phone and computer pinged simultaneously with a private message.

“Not now,” she grumbled, wiggling her fingers over the keys. The words were just starting to come. Yet after another two pings from her devices, she couldn’t ignore it any longer. She clicked open Facebook from her computer, and clicked the red dot over the message icon. She began to read, and stopped, looking back up to the sender’s name. There was none. It was blank, as was the profile picture. When the hell could that be done?

Delete your author profile.

Who is this?

An ironic question for you. Delete your author profile and all your accounts. You will not be warned again.

Uh huh. Whatever. Get fucked. Blocked! And just like that, another problem solved. If only she had a name to screen shot again. Probably one of Lisa’s friends, or Lisa herself. But she had better things to worry about. Writing! She had less than three months before the release date. She had a lot of ravenous fans, and lots of money to make. Her fingers wiggled over the keys once more as another ping sounded. And another. And another. Two more almost simultaneously. As she picked up her phone, another message ping went off.

“What the fuck?”

Martina opened Facebook and saw no new message requests. But even as she went over the unchanged icon, another message sound pinged. That’s when it hit her, these weren’t to Damien’s account. They couldn’t be. She switched to her own and sure enough, there they were. Well, three of the message requests. The others had gone to her fake female accounts. All of them. She opened the ones to her actual profile, again, finding no name of the sender. The first two were a copy of the originals she had read, sent at the same time to both accounts. The third was newer.

Last warning.

We are the Independents. Your lies have made a mockery of the indie community and harmed one of our own. If you insult one of us, you insult all of us. Delete your author profile and all your accounts. Now.

Fuck. OFF!

Martina again took a screen shot and prepped another post, before thinking better of it this time. The last thing she wanted was to draw more unwanted attention to herself. It served a purpose yesterday, but now it would just be superfluous. She wouldn’t be scared off by a blank name.

Author Bio:

I love writing adult paranormal fiction. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts....oh my. I've been writing since I was 11 but I've always been a dreamer......often getting caught staring off into space as I created stories in my mind.

One of my recent stories, Night Walker (Undeadly Secrets Series Book 1), won the 2017 Golden Stake Award at the International Vampire Film and Arts Festival held in Transylvania annually. I'm still quite chuffed about walking away with it after facing some great contenders.

The Fourth book in what some refer to as The Undeadly Secrets Saga will release in early 2018. I also have a short story thriller series, The Independents, and will be branching out into other genres in the coming year.

My favorite activities include spending time with family, dragging my forever patient wife to watch my beloved St George Illawarra Dragons, popping into the movies for the latest blockbusters, going to the gym for my dream body. Or just a body. Anything, really.

My beautiful wife and I welcomed our first child into the world in 2017. My fans have declared him the Prince of Speerverse and claim he seems to take after me in his want to build the tension as high as possible...making us and our loved ones wait 3 long days for him to make his entrance.  My wife and I live with the love of our lives in Sydney, Australia; the setting for the majority of my works.
